October 2009: IEC61850 DLL
In 2009 based on the source code of INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library we released two DLL products: 61850 CCC and 61850 SCC, components implementing communication functions of IEC61850 client and IEC61850 server for applications running in MS Windows 32-bit systems.
August 2009: IEC61850 system configuration tool
In spring and summer 2009 INFO TECH developed for VAMP Ltd. the system configuration tool SCD Editor for IEC61850-based substation automation networks. SCD Editor allows to build System Configuration Description files from the imported ICD files and provided configuration parameters. The tool enables setting e.g. actual communication addresses, parameters of reporting functions, data flow among devices based on GOOSE messages.
April 2009: KEMA certificate
In April 2009 the protection relay VAMP 257 with IEC61850 interface implemented by INFO TECH was granted IEC61850 Certificate Level A from KEMA after an intensive one week test session. INFO TECH expert partcipated in the certification test session at KEMA on behalf of VAMP Ltd. IEC61850 server interface in VAMP 257 was developed using INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library.
March 2009: Lecture on IEC 61850
In March 2009 INFO TECH team presented an invited lecture on the IEC 61850 standard at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Computer Science of Gdansk University of Technology. The lecture included also demonstration of devices and software implementing IEC 61850 server and client interfaces. In 2008 INFO TECH presented similar lectures at Vasa Swedish Polytechnic and at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
January 2009: INFO TECH references
VAMP Ltd. from Finland published a new issue of their customer journal Protection & Control, 1/2009, in which on page 15 they recommend both INFO TECH 61850 Avenue tool and INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library.
October 2008: VAMP with IEC 61850
INFO TECH delivered to VAMP Ltd. the implementation of IEC61850 server interface for their newest protection relays VAMP 257, VAMP 259 and VAMP 50. IEC61850 server functionality includes configurable data model, reporting functions based on pre-defined and dynamically created datasets, GOOSE publisher and GOOSE subscriber, a tool program for generation of ICD document and configuring the device in accordance with the provided system description in SCD file. The software was developed using INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library. VAMP relay with IEC 61850 server interface has successfully passed the tests against tools, substation gateways and SCADA systems built on 4 other IEC 61850 software libraries.
September 2008: IEC 61850 in PLC
During spring and summer 2008 the joint team of INFO TECH and Institute of Power Engineering from Gdansk developed and deployed the IEC 61850 server interface on the data concentrator of the 160 MVA and 330 MVA transformers manufactured by ABB Sp. z o.o. from Lodz, Poland. This data concentrators are implemented using WAGO PLCs. Concentrators together with transformers are supplied to 220/110 kV and 400/110kV transmission substations of PSE-Operator SA, the Polish grid operator. The data concentrator software was developed using INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library. According to our knowledge this is the first released implementation of the IEC 61850 server in PLC! Running in the field, in several substation installations.
July 2008: Application for Vacon
Upon an order from Vacon Plc INFO TECH developed system bus synchronization program - a custom application for Vacon frequency converters. This application was delivered to wood factory in Lieksa, Finland, to synchronize positions of multiple wood conveyors. The system in Lieksa was commissioned with assistance of our engineer. Vacon Plc from Finland is a leading supplier of variable speed AC drives.
May 2008: System in New Zealand
In May 2008 INFO TECH provided its services to the installation and testing of disconnector controllers of the power distribution system in Hastings, New Zealand. The system with REC523 monitoring and control units using DNP3.0 communication protocol was delivered by ABB. This was our first service delivery case in the Southern side of the Globe! March 2008: Contract with Epec
In March 2008 Epec Ltd. from Finland appointed INFO TECH as the long term subcontracting partner developing communication firmware and application programs for Epec control modules and systems.
October 2007: Trainings on IEC61850
In 2007 INFO TECH prepared 4 practical trainings on IEC61850, taking place in Poland and abroad, with hands-on exercises using INFO TECH communication tools (61850 Avenue, relay simulator with IEC61850 server).
September 2007: IEn buys license for IEC61850 Library
Institute of Power Engineering (IEn) from Gdansk has bought from INFO TECH a license for INFO TECH IEC61850 Software Library, including client and server functions. INFO TECH and IEN signed a co-operation agreement for joint marketing actions and development projects in Poland.
